Singhara Khichdi

Ingredients

1/2 kg singhara or waterchest-nuts
4-5 cloves
1 teaspoon jeera
A pinch or hing
1 tablespoon ghee

Procedure

  1. Peel and chop each singhara into two  or three  pieces.
  2. Put of ghee in a kadai and heat.
  3. when it is hot, crackle the hing,followed by jeera.
  4. Add the cloves and stir.
  5. In less than half a minute add the chopped singhara pieces. Mix well.
  6. Cover the kadai and let it cook for 10-15 minutes or ttll the singharas are soft. Stir occasionally.
