Sandwich Loaf Recipe

Ingredients

1 good sized loaf white bread, 24 hours old
1 cup corn oil Mayonnaise
1 medium sized can sardines, boned and shredded
1 small bottle stuffed olives, minced
3 finely minced pimientos
1 medium sized can deviled ham
2 cream cheeses
1/4 cup chopped nuts, any kind
Butter, creamed until softened

Procedure

  1. Slice the crust off the bread, leaving a symmetrical loaf.
  2. Slice lengthwise into three layers, spread with creamed butter.
  3. Spread the bottom layer with the olives mixed with a little mayonnaise and the sardines.
  4. Put the second layer of bread in place and spread with the ham mixed with the pimientos and just enough mayonnaise to moisten.
  5. Put on the third layer.
  6. Frost with cream cheese that has been mixed with enough mayonnaise to make it spreadable.
  7. Thickly cover the cream cheese covered loaf with chopped nuts.
  8. Place upon a platter and chill; garnish with lettuce or parsley.
