Ingredients2 tbsp almonds or cashew nuts 1 1/2 tbsp sifted icing sugar 1/2 tbsp cornflour a few drops of water red food colour (liquid) Procedure1. Soak almonds & remove skin. 2. Grind blanched almonds or cashew nuts to a fine paste. 3. Add sugar and cornflour to the paste. 4. Make a dough with a few drops of water. 5. Add red colour keeping aside 1/4 of the dough. Cover the dough & keep aside.
Method to make marzipan roses 1. Make a small ball about the size of akishmish with the coloured dough. 2. Flatten it by keeping it on the palm of your left hand and press with the other hand. 3. Roll to form the centre of the rose. 4. Take another small ball of the dough, flatten it and arrange besides the centre to form a petal. 5. Make more petals similarly.
Method to prepare marzipan leaves 1. To the plain dough, add a few drops of green colour. Mix the colour properly. 2. Make a small elongated ball, press it to give the shape of a leaf. 3. Mark lines with a knife on the leaf to give the impression of veins.
