Procedure
- Cereals should be purchased in small quantities and kept in air-tight jars that are securely covered. This helps discourage insect growth.
- Many package directions do not allow enough time for proper cooking. Doubling the time will usually provide more healthful and appetizing results.
- Use a double boiler and mix the finer preparations with a little cold water, then add to the boiling water. This prevents the mixture from cooking unevenly in lumps.
- Allow one teaspoon of salt to each cup of cereal.
